As far as MCing , life as a rapper started when I was at the age of about 10. I would always try and imitate artists such as Slick Rick and Doug E Fresh. And for a while up to the age of 15 me and my brother would have freestyle rap sessions. After football on a Saturday, me and friends would go shopping for records in Lucky Spin and spin in his bedroom. I first got into hardcore through listening to tapes of Weekend Rush and took it on from there. At first I wanted to be a DJ but one time I just plugged in headphones into the mic port and took it from there.
My first ever club I did was in 1993, at the Gass club on a Monday night. It was called Rebirth and put on by Electrybe. Its here I met MC Foxy for the first time. This all started as a hobby as I was studying at the time. I then began to develop a style known as speed flows, the equivalent of rapping fast. I began to grow confidence and by now I had just begun listening to Kool FM. In 1994 I started MCing in the Raw club which was another turn in my career. I had got a lot better and concentrated more on talking to crowds and developing catchy lyrics. Just after I joined a station called Transmission One. Here I had a following in West London and just worked more and more on developing my style of chatting.
Then came the day I'll remember for years, the Notting Hill Carnival in 1994. This is where I met Navigator, Fivo, Ron and SL many more. I just remember going on the microphone and everyone going crazy on All Saints Road. From there I've been doing raves such as Champagne Bash v I p.a. Lots of people thought I would get on Kool FM after this but I wasn't ready and around this time I met Skibadee who was at Club 73 at the time and on Crystal FM, who were like Transmission Ones neighbours.
In 1995 I became resident at Samantha's night club. Ah London something, this was were I began to mix with all the big names of the jungle scene like Mampi Swift, Bryan Gee, Andy C, Trace Stretch, Brockie det, MC Dynamite, Roni Size, Stevie Hyper D (RIP), Nicky Blackmarket and many more. I gained experience in the club scene through this.
In 1996 I became resident at Club d l b then in 1997 I joined the one and only Kool FM. This lead to many, many things such as One Nation, Jungle Fever, Helter Skelter, Desire, Telepathy, Best of British, Innovation, Pure Science and Heat. It was around then that I became resident of Movement which begun at Club Umbargos before moving to Bar Rumba. This helped me develop another side of MCing to the more student type of raver or clubber.
I did my first over seas rave in 1997 which was in Berlin, Germany, which led to doing Hamburg, Dresden, Frankfurt, Bremen, Dortmund, Freiberg and other countries such as Japan, Switzerland, USA, Canada, Portugal and Holland. It's an absolute buzz MCing in all these countries, seeing every one enjoying themselves. (Taken from mcic3.com website)
